The A100 impact

The force of the membership is felt through members’ daily activities supporting and creating local grassroots initiatives, meeting and advising tech entrepreneurs, sitting on Boards and investing in local startups—all while acting as knowledgeable, independent and objective advisors to policymakers.

The A100 also supports deal flow by providing advisory and capital across the Canadian tech ecosystem—mainly via Accelerate Fund—expanded awareness about investment and entrepreneurial opportunities, and creating symbiosis and on-the-ground collaboration between various organizations supporting tech leaders and innovation ecosystems.

Our purpose, mission and principles

A100 Purpose

Inspire and support generations of Alberta tech entrepreneurs.

A100 Mission

Drive lasting diversification for Alberta’s economy, and engage our community of seasoned technology founders to support up and coming tech entrepreneurs by sharing their experiences and networks.

A100 Core Principles

Focus on the Entrepreneur

Putting people first and developing the full potential in an entrepreneur, not just the business.

Experience-based advice

We’re entrepreneurs too and we’ve walked in your shoes. We understand the challenges that keep you up at night and share real-life advice that we’ve learned the hard way.

Independently funded

An objective, third-party voice to policy makers that can stay true to our objectives and core principles.

Culture of giving back

Every A100 member has received mentorship, guidance or advice over the course of their careers. We pay-it-forward by investing our time and experience.

Partner with community

Collaborate with existing community groups to support and complement grassroots initiatives in the hi-tech startup ecosystem.

Key investments

Accelerate Fund

The Accelerate Fund provides an alternate source of financing to Alberta startups that aren’t yet venture capital ready. The fund helps to foster the growth of Alberta’s technology sector and diversify the province’s economy. The A100 leads the Accelerate Fund Industry Committee, which serves as an objective, hands-on resource to the fund and its portfolio companies. The fund is managed by Yaletown Partners, which reviews applications, performs due diligence, rules on investment decisions and provides ongoing support to portfolio companies.
