ACFII-funded Passportal acquired by SolarWinds to expand their IT security software portfolio

On Friday, April 26, 2019, Accelerate Fund II announced that Passportal was acquired by SolarWinds (NYSE:SWI), a leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management software. In tandem with the announcement came the launch of SolarWinds® Passportal suite — a unified set of password management and privileged client knowledge management tools, expanding the company’s IT security product portfolio.

Passportal was founded in Calgary in 2011 by successful MSP owner, Colin Knox. Accelerate Fund II invested in the company in 2017. Passportal grew quickly as an IT security innovator offering MSPs, VARs and ITSPs fully managed, cloud-based software to simplify storing, managing and retrieving passwords as well as providing secure client document management tools from any connected device.

This is the first exit for Accelerate Fund II and we want to congratulate the management team and employees on building such a successful organization in Calgary!
